Youth In Government

Youth In Government is a national program of the Y that involves thousands of teens nationwide in state-organized, model-government programs.

What does Youth In goverment do?

  • Prepares teens for a life of engaged and active citizenship
  • Serve the community through various service projects
  • Give teens the opportunity to have their bills passed

How does Youth In Government benefit the YMCA and teens?

  • Gives teens interested in politics an opportunity to be directly involved with government
  • Serve the community through Y-Corps
  • Provide teens with an environment where they can be themselves and pursue their interests.

Along with honing teens public speaking skills they also have the opportunity to earn community service hours!
